The 20-question KDS test
- Have you ever asked to speak to a manager because an employee couldn’t resolve your problem?
- If a rule doesn’t make sense to you, do you sometimes believe an exception should be made?
- Do you point out when someone is parked incorrectly even when it doesn’t affect you?
- Have you corrected a stranger’s behavior because you thought someone needed to say something?
- If you receive poor service, do you usually make sure someone in authority hears about it?
- Have you continued arguing after an employee told you they didn’t have the authority to change something?
- Do you believe businesses should occasionally make exceptions for good or longtime customers?
- If a neighbor is doing something you dislike, are you likely to confront them?
- Have you contacted an HOA, landlord, management, security, or another authority about someone’s behavior?
- When someone tells you, “That’s the policy,” do you want to know who has the authority to override it?
- Have you left a negative online review while you were still angry about what happened?
- Do you sometimes give strangers advice they didn’t ask for because you believe it will help them?
- If someone is breaking a minor rule, does it bother you even when nobody is being harmed?
- Have you ever reminded a business how much money you spend there during a disagreement?
- When you believe you’re right, is it difficult to walk away from an argument?
- Have you called or considered calling police or security over a disagreement where nobody was in immediate danger?
- Do you sometimes think people are too sensitive when they’re corrected?
- After a confrontation, do you usually believe the other person caused the situation?
- Have friends or family ever told you that you were making too big a deal out of something?
- Have you later realized you were wrong and apologized?
